This 6″-long clamp holds small, irregularly shaped objects with steel pins rather than flat jaws.  The pins fit in 60 hexagonally spaced holes on the face of the clamp, allowing you to clamp almost any shape as long as it’s smaller than the clamp head.

Slide these veneer clamp screws over some 1/2″ or 3/4″ pipe clamps and you have a deep-reach surface-clamping jig for veneering, laminating, or whatever other use you can imagine.  They’ll work in conjunction with Pony-style 50, 52, and 56 pipe clamps, or put them in your own custom fixture.

Irwin is upgrading their XP Quick-Grip line that we first covered in 2006.  Now they describe the clamps as one-handed bar clamps.  The clamps feature the same Power Locks to hold pressure longer and an I-beam bar to resist twisting and bowing, but Irwin increased the rated clamping pressure to 600 pounds and added double-locking swivel jaws with removable face pads.
