Given that this set of five chisels will set you back $435, I’d probably never wield one as an emergency screwdriver. At this price, I might never actually use them at all — maybe just frame them for my mantel, or trade them for a week or three in Sidney French’s brother’s workshop.

With widths of 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 5/8″, and 3/4″, these 10-3/8″ long chisels feature 5″ long A2 steel blades hardened and tempered to Rc60, with a 30-degree cutting edge. The tang extends through the acrylic-infused figured maple handles. You can buy ’em from the manufacturer or, appropriately, The Best Things website.
