I was looking for a gift for my better half on Overstock.com when I got sidetracked by all these Black Rhino hammers that’re on sale. Black Rhino has built their reputation on high-quality, ergonomic tools for the professional. These hammers in particular caught my eye:
I discovered a couple of other nice things about Overstock.com: the flat shipping rate of $3, and their “guaranteed best on the net” pricing.
Check out Overstock’s bounty today: a 177-piece Grip professional hand tool set $240. It looks like a great set for someone just starting out with a tight budget — which, let’s face it, is just about everyone just starting out.
It appears to be a pretty decent set which includes a 44-piece 1/4″ socket set, a 42-piece 3/8″ socket set, a 34-piece 1/2″ socket set, a 5-piece 8″ pliers set, a 3-piece 10″ pliers set, a 22-piece combination wrench set, a 4-piece adjustable wrench set, a 14-piece extra long combination wrench set, and a 5-piece pro screwdriver set.
I couldn’t find any warranty information for Grip professional tools, but the price-to-tool ratio caught my attention. This set offers a lot of functionality for $240 — especially when you price the pieces separately.
Overstock isn’t somewhere I normally go for tools, however this reconditioned 14.4V Skil drill with a detachable stud finder for $35 caught my eye. The drill isn’t exactly feature-laden with a single-speed transmission variable from 0-700 RPM, six torque settings, and a 3/8″ keyless chuck. But when you consider $35 buys you a drill and a stud finder, it sounds better. The charger, battery, double ended driver bit, and carrying case are also included.
