
On the heels of Magswitch introducing the MagFence, Pinnacle — one of Woodcraft’s house brands — is now selling an aluminum version of the MagFence. Pinnacle’s Mag-Jig bracket can be used singly or in pairs to create an easily removable fence for any tool with an iron table.

When I was younger, I spent a very long weekend trying to glue up the parts of a bookcase I was building for a friend’s dorm room. While I had (mostly) the tools to do the job, I didn’t really know much about woodwork — which is why I had so much trouble getting the joints straight. Now it’d only take a few minutes, because I have a couple of sets of box clamps.
Recently, a friend recommended the Pinnacle clamps (pictured above) to me, and I’m thinking about picking up a set. They look very easy to use, and they handle any thickness wood from 1/4″ to 1″.

A perfect circle may indeed be “unattainable” according to mathematicians, but the perfect square is within reach — if you have the right clamps. Pinnacle’s clamping square and wedge are just the answer for the frame that needs to be perfect on all corners.
The system consists of a counter-bored square that can be mounted to any flat surface via screws and a wedge that pairs up with the square to create a fixture for forming miter joints. To adjust and tighten the box, attach the wedge to a threaded stud on a toggle clamp and push it into the frame which creates a stable platform for gluing or nailing.
