We came across the sad story of a Snap-On distributor — they’re independent, remember? — and one likely disappointed child in an upstate New York newspaper recently:

Snap-On Tools valued at about $25,000 were stolen in a burglary discovered Tuesday morning on the property of a Snap-On distributor in the town of Pamelia, according to state police. […] Intruders entered a garage at the residence as well as a truck containing the tools, parked outside the garage.

But here’s the sad part:

Stolen hand tools include wrench sets, drill bit sets, four 18-volt cordless impact wrench sets with cases and batteries, a tool bag, and a child-size Red Rider wagon having the Snap-On logo.

Doh! While those wrenches — and even impact wrenches — are infinitely pawnable, what kind of bastard-coated bastard steals a child’s wagon?

They probably threw all the tools into the wagon and used it carry away the stuff. Probably pawned the tools and threw away the wagon.

    Bastards the lot of em.

  2. Jim says:

Do you actually think that a guy who PURCHASED a Snap-On Logoed Radio Flyer would let his kids play with it? I’m guessing it was part of some kind of tool shrine in the garage.

  3. Chris says:

$25K in Snap-On tools? What, they get away with one socket set?

there is a special kind of hell for people who steal tools.

it’s one thing to steal a man’s belongings, quite another to steal a man’s livelihood.

Heywood sez: there is a special kind of hell for people who steal tools.

    Amen, brother.

  9. Chris says:

“what kind of bastard-coated bastard steals a child’s wagon?”

bastard-coated bastard – that is hilarious, accurate but hilarious

  12. Nick the Hick says:

“bastard-coated bastard” has just moved into my vocabulary. So, is the coating crunchy and holding in a brown, slighty runny substance, that slumps when released from the coating. And does it all have that slighty unique smell of a outhouse? Cause that is what I am picturing when I read this story.

And yea, what Chris said, 25K in snap-on is not a lot to haul, would have easily fit in the wagon.

  13. Ben H says:

I’m sorry, but a thief like this, should be made to put his teeth against a concrete curb and kicked in the back of the head….

  14. Rico says:

Those kinds of folk that steals like that just didn’t enouigh lovin’ when they was youngins.
I sure hope they end up in prison whar they will get all the lovin’ they deserve……..and then some.
