My love for tracked vehicles is complete and without limit, so I could spend hours at the Overvalwagen site;  it features a ton of great info about WWII-era tracked vehicles from Germany and Belgium.  You may not be familiar with the Belgian offerings of the period, because when Germany rolled over Belgium in WWII they took over most of the Belgian factories and a lot of their prewar gear.  The gem pictured here is the ex-KNIL Vickers Utility Tractor –- and it is awesome.

While everyone else is whipping around in the rough on quads, I’d prefer something like this.  It’s armored, it can tow artillery, it’s about as all-terrain as it gets, and it seats six with the side seats folded down — this is a vehicle way ahead of its time.

Vickers utillity tractors aren’t all the rage anymore — which is sad, because I think a “utility tractor” craze would’ve been more productive than the SUV thing we had here in the states a few years ago.  That, however, is another story.  Check out Overvalwagen if you get the chance.

Looks like we are ready to go to a construction war. And the Overalwagon is going to lead the way

  2. That’s a hell of a lawn tractor, but I’d go one size bigger and get a Universal Carrier (a.k.a. the Bren Gun Carrier), if I were you:

    (Working Bren gun optional.)
