Mounting your router inside your router table can help you get the most out of it, but then it can be difficult to get to the router to change out the bits or adjust the height. Bench Dog’s ProLift allows you to get your router up fast so you can make those adjustments quickly and easily.

Bench Dog built the ProLift around the Porter Cable 7518 router.  It features cooling fins in the aluminum housing to help keep the router cool, and its direct drive mechanism is designed for daily use and accurate within .001” — other manufacturers use belts or chains, which get sloppy over time.

The Bench Dog ProLift sells for about $330.

The Prolift rocks, no doubt. They recently changed the design a tad but taking out the aluminum inner rings and substituting plastic ones. No big deal in my book, but some people do not like it for some reason. If you buy a BD lift, you can only use it in a bench dog table or a custom design of your own.
