Wouldn’t it be nice to have a sink outside, so you could clean up before going into the house?  With an outdoor utility sink like this one from Vertex International, you can wash yourself, your toys, and possibly even your dog, if we’re to believe Amazon.

The basin measures 16″ by 9″ by 5″ deep with folding work surfaces to either side that double as a cover for the basin.  With the work surfaces extended, the sink measures 22″ by 14″ by 8″ and weighs 9 pounds. An adjustable sprayer docks in the sink and can be removed to reach up to 48″ away.  You can let the 2-3/4″ diameter drain just flow onto the ground, or you can collect the gray water in a bucket for reuse.

You install the sink on an exterior wall with brackets that also allow you to easily remove the sink if necessary.  Mounted properly the sink can hold 20 pounds.  You’ll need to assemble the sink, but at least Vertex includes the mounting hardware.

This garden sink will run you anywhere from $80 to $90.

This is cool for BBQ items and giant pots that wont fit in your sink.

  2. Ronald says:

Or, just use a hose or spigot.

  3. Eric says:

Meh, just use an old wall mount sink. Those are free.

While he was here for some other jobs, we had the plumber install a hot-water hose bib outside next to the cold one (to the left, obviously). Add a short mixing hose and you’re all set. This has been great for washing dogs, cars, and kids. Just make sure that you turn the hot-water bib all the way off or a small leak in the hose can lead to an alarmingly high power bill over time. At least, that’s what I’ve heard.

I use an old 2 hole sink found in an alley sitting on an old desk found in an alley with a hole drilled in it to drain out the water
