LittleMachineShop.com is selling this Starrett 11H-4-4R 4″ Combination Square for $50.67.  This handy little combination square with a 4″ blade and cast iron head is graduated in 8ths, 16ths, 32nds, and 64ths.  Contrary to its description, it doesn’t have the level vial — the picture shows a longer blade as well.

Umm…. I don’t get it. Is this some sort of joke?

How about a slightly larger square for 15% the cost at Lowe’s?

    Same here:

I simply can’t see spending more than $20 on a pocket sized combo-square. 90 degrees is 90 degrees, my Wal-mart square still works fine and it’s coming up on 10 years old. So – What am I missing?

If I were in the market for a 4″ Square, it would be the Starrett 13A Double Square available at Amazon ( http://www.amazon.com/Starrett-13A-Double-Square-hardened/dp/B0002FUM2Y/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=I3CUX7PPYIH880&colid=34BSGO2E9GFZL ) for $46. Just can’t beat the quality of a Starrett made measuring tool. They are a little pricey, but wort every penny.

Agree. I use my 4″ double square for everything from checking blade/bit height to transferring cut lines from the face of a board to the edge.
