Who Bent My Level?

No, this level wasn’t a victim of jobsite rage. Checkpoint designed it to check 0°, 22.5°, 30°, 45°, 60°, and 90° angles — the U shape is just a byproduct of its function. While they were at it they made the U6 in two varieties: the U6 Flat for flat surfaces and the U6 V-Groove for tubing or conduit.
Checkpoint CNC-machines the U6 from solid 6061-T6 aluminum billet, buff-polishes and aerospace-anodizes it, and then laser-etches the graphics. They incorporate eight rare-earth neodymium magnets into the U6 Flat and 16 magnets in the V-Groove, to hold these levels securely to any magnetic surface. The compact 2-1/2″ by 2″ levels contain bubble vials accurate to 45 minutes of arc.
They’re available in Brilliant Red, Royal Blue, Black, and Platinum, and Checkpoint includes a belt case free with every U6 to protect it on the jobsite. The flat-sided model retails for $30 while the V-Grooved model retails for $35.

Before anybody asks, I don’t know what color the U6 Flat is, I got the picture from the Checkpoint web page.

Maybe it’s a picture of a prototype, or a custom order for somebody else.
They look like paper board to me.
