Quick Draw McGraw would appreciate this tool, and even though he’s not the sharpest tack in the drawer, he’d be right on in this case.  Think of all the times you’ve wound up in a contorted position, and in order to grab your hammer you had to pull the head out of the belt loop to get to the handle — not the smoothest move.  With Prazi’s QuickDraw you store your hammer handle-up, so it lands easily in your hand.

A small metal clip holds the hammer in at the handle end — think the kind of metal clip that holds a mop or broom on a wall.  The clip also keeps the hammer from banging into your leg.  The sturdy belt hook will hold up to regular use and abuse.  You can adjust the holster for left- or right-handedness, and you can also adjust the pivot angle.

The Prazi QuickDraw works with most styles of hammers and sells for about $9.

I don’t. It’s just easier and more out of the way in back.

I’m so used to using a hammer in the hammer loop of my dungarees I don’t really understand how this would be faster or easier.

If you have any dexterity the old way isn’t really tough.

I agree. A seasoned carpenter can often flick a hammer out of the loop and grab the handle in the air without looking. Poetry in motion.
