In their latest flyer Enco is advertising the Phase-a-Matic 1/3-3/4 HP Static Phase Converter for $88. If you’re wiring up industrial machines in a small shop, this’ll convert 220 single-phase power to three-phase power. It’s not as robust as a rotary phase converter, but it’s not as expensive either, and the free shipping makes this a pretty good deal overall. The item number is SK891-5691 in case the link doesn’t work.

One Response to Dealmonger: Phase-a-Matic Phase Converter $88

  1. I was talking to my dad this week and he said these cheap phase converters can damage your machinery. He said a guy he knows burnt his three phase motor out with one. I guess the problem is that the phases don’t all output the same power.

He bought a 10 amp three phase converter used for around a thousand bucks to run his three phase equipment in his shop which he thought was a good deal. I don’t know if you can really go much cheaper than that.
