My absolute favorite new show of last year was Ax Men on the History channel. I was fascinated to see their lives and to learn that the art of timber clearing and the men who do it haven’t changed much in the last 200 years, just the tools.  Apparently other people dug it as well because season two is starting up Monday, March 2 at 10PM ET/PT on History.

The show picks up with two logging companies from last season, J.M. Browning Logging of Astoria and Vernonia’s Pihl Logging.  New this time around are Rygaard Logging of Port Angeles, R&R Conner Aviation, which uses helicopters to maximize its output, and S&S Aqua Logging of Aberdeen, a team of diving loggers who fish for timber in some of the Pacific Northwest’s cold-ass waters.

In short, I’m stoked — these guys had all kinds of hell sprung on ’em last year, and I doubt it’ll be much better for ’em this time around.

Yes, one of the best “reality” shows…glad it’s returning.

The picture shows a good way to lose ones life.
We were on a jobsite where a worker standing on some pilings was crushed to death when they rolled.

I’d also recommend Heli-Logging which is on TLC (The Learning Channel). Similar stuff, really tough guys doing very dangerous work.

Don’t they have a new show out, about heli-logging?

    How about the Detonators?

It has been my opinion that most loggers aren’t the sharpest knives in the drawer.
And OSHA inspectors don’t like wandering around in the woods.

it’s right up there with working the night shift at a quick pic
