We’ve talked about our Shop Dog friends before, but this is the first Shop Cat featured on Toolmonger.  Jeff the shop cat, seen here inspecting his latest project site in the shop, looks like he’s hard at work day or night — just look at that dusty snout.

We’ve said it before but for some reason our furry friends of the four feet make things more relaxed in the shop. It’s not an illusion either — just spend some time with one of ’em and you’ll understand.

Jeff, keep cracking the whip. Somebody’s gotta get something done around there. Also thanks to Jmillerid for posting the sweet pic of Jeff getting his shop on.

Not sure about the wisdom of having a critter loose in the shop.

Didn’t think of it with the dog post, but the cat pic reminded me of a shop I worked at part time while in school. The shop cat ran between the legs of the boss while he was working at the joiner and knocked him off balance, causing him to lose the tip of his index finger.

    Just sayin’…

We use to have a cat called ‘Primer’ he was primer gray in color. He would always hang around us when we where in the garage or outside work on a car. He never really got in the way, but was always near by.

I had a cat named Stinky who used to love sleeping in the shop. The louder the better. She would climb into a box of framing nails and would just crash out. Wouldn’t even wake up when I used the planer.

Got hit by a car a while back. Since then I have yet to find a cat or dog who didn’t get freaked out by shop noise–and Toolhearty is right, a scared animal is dangerous in the shop.

I don’t like the idea of animals in the shop, too dangerous, too many toxic things. We do have a large orange cat that sleeps in a purple Triumph TR6 parts car outside the shop. “Big Orange” in the “Eggplant”.
