ToolDiscounter.com is selling Channellock’s 911 9″ Cable Cutters for $15.68.  Cable cutters make a nice, even cut by enveloping the cable with the cutting edge — really the best way to cut stranded cable.

Really nice tool to have when working with larger NM or UF wiring. But beware of using on Triplex (or similar)…the steel strand(s) in the neutral/carrier wire can put a nasty dent in the blades. I’ve also been known to do some nasty arc welding on the blades whilst cutting hot NM, but I don’t want to talk about that.

yeah, harbor freight has something like these, i use for coax everyday, and they let me swap them when they get worn. usually they go on sale for 3 or 4 bucks.

I’ve got a pair of the Klein one-of-these I left on a fab table 30 years ago and an overcharged pipefitter helper thought would be just the thing to cut some number 9 tie wire with. Three times. There’s still a ragged spot on the edge, but it was a fairly cheap lesson about fab tables and overcharged pipefitter helpers.
