It’s Just Cool: Kevin Blake’s Pedal Plow

Some of the best everyday stuff sprang from the minds of lazy tinkerers. Kevin Blake built this steel-frame recumbent snowplow bike from old bicycle parts, a riding lawnmower, and a few snow shovels.
Kevin’s brainchild placed runner-up in the “Innovate or Die” contest. He didn’t snag the five-grand top prize, but the neighbors can’t really laugh at him anymore, either. Our only question is about turn radius — in the entire video you never see it go back up the driveway or hang a sharp turn.
Regardless, with Kevin’s design you’re harnessing thigh power instead of straining your back muscles, a good trade.
Pedal-Powered Snow Plow [Hacked Gadgets]
Could have used that today! It is Oct 28th and nearly 3″ of snow has fallen here in south eastern PA!
Why do it yourself when you have a pefectly good child to do the shoveling.
Looks nice, but not at all practical around where I live. What happens when you get more then 6 inches of snow, or when the berms on the side get higher then the plow.
I am always looking for a better way to remove snow from my driveway, but a snowblower or plow on a truck win every time.
