We’ve featured products like the Looj that’re supposed to help you clean your gutters, but what about cleaning out the downspout? Well, you could try the AIRALEAVE, which connects your leaf blower to the bottom of your downspout. It directs air up the downspout at high velocity, shooting leaves and debris out of the gutters like a dirty fountain.
The AIRALEAVE works with either 2″x3″ or 3″x4″ downspouts, and the universal blower end fits most blowers, but for best results you should use a blower with at least 215 MPH minimum velocity. They list all kinds of warnings about proper safety equipment and clearing the area, but if you can’t figure this out for yourself, you’re probably too much of a danger to yourself and society to be reading this blog.
AIRALEAVE lists for $30, but if you pay that you’re out of your mind — if you want to give the AIRALEAVE a try it’s really only $10, but do yourself a favor and buy it from a reputable site like Amazon. The AIRALEAVE corporate site hawks a ton of other junk, from jewelry to mp3’s. It looks so shady, we wouldn’t even trust it with Billy Mays’ credit card.
There’s really no reason you can’t go out and buy a cheap section of aluminum downspout and fashion something like this yourself, without the embarrassment of buying something featured on QVC. But will this thing, or a home-built version, really work? Let us know what you think in the comments.
