Dealmonger: Dico Buff Rake $13

Enco is discounting the Dico buff rake to $13, according to their latest overstock flyer. Its importance in buffing isn’t widely understood, but it helps to clean and recondition your buff, removing excess compound and resurfacing the wheel.

Dear UPS Man: could you please stay away from my wife’s buff with your big Dico Buff Rake.
There is a similar tool for cleaning bonnets;

A file card will also work.

Jim have you tried this?
I’m not sure that I want to try to hold a file card (only one handle end) up against a spinning buff – and hope that none of the file card wires break off or get embedded in the buff.
I just made my own with a hunk of wood and a bunch of wood screws threaded all the way through so their tips protrude.
Yes, I do it all the time. Point the end of the card toward the deck at a 45° angle and let the wheel come down across the wires at a tangent below center line. The wires stay put, but load up a bit faster than a rake. If the wheel does snatch the card out of yor hand (I have never had this happen), it will sling the card down and away from you.
