Metabo has added a 5″ angle grinder to its already-substantial line of grinders. The fact that the wheel is bigger than 4-1/2″ tells us that they’re focusing on productivity with this new model.
The W8-125 features Metabo’s “Optimum Cooling Technology,” which means they’ve repositioned the motor brushes for better airflow and built in a strong fan to pull more air through the tool casing. Metabo claims that the 8A motor makes 800 watts of power and 19.5 in/lbs of torque (no-load), and it spins up to 10,000 RPM. It weighs in at 5.4 pounds — rather svelte for a weld-busting grinder.
Street pricing is around $110.
