Reader Fred Boness decided that a clean yard was worth more than he was saving by nursing along his old rummage-sale shredder — so he brought home a new Earthquake shredder.

With its 10-horse Briggs and Stratton, he says it ripped through his sizable brush pile in about three hours, which is a big improvement over the never-ending pile his other rig left him with. Also, function and cost aside, it’s just cool.  Go out in the yard and start ripping stuff up and making lots of noise with a machine that has “Earthquake” emblazoned on the front of it, and tell me that’s not sweet.

I had that exact same orange colored chipepr shredder back in the day. What brand is that thing (cannot for the life of me remember)?

    It’s marked as Sears.
