Think of the right-angle pipe wrench like a super-heavy-duty basin wrench — it allows you to turn pipes and fittings in spaces where you can’t fit a normal pipe wrench. You may not need it every day, but when do you need it, you’ll be glad you have it.
The wrench head works just like any other pipe wrench, except it doesn’t have a handle — instead it features a square socket on the side where you plug an extension bar. The extension runs perpendicular to the head and has another socket for either another extension or the T-handle. If the need arises, the T-handle also fits directly into the wrench head.
Perfecto sells their right-angle pipe wrench in four different packages, which basically differ by the type of extension and T-handle they include. I could only find pricing for the Deluxe Kit and the Super Deluxe Kit. Both kits include a 19″ forged-steel sliding T-handle, a 14″ wrench head, a water meter key, and a 1-1/2″ pipe plug. The kits differ in that the Deluxe Kit comes with a 28″ extension while the Super Deluxe Kit comes with two 16″ extensions.
The right-angle pipe wrench Deluxe Kit runs about $250, and the Super Deluxe Kit runs $330.
