Milwaukee 49-17-3300 Heavy Duty Folding Ear Muffs

What did you say? Ok, bad joke. What’s not a joke is Amazon’s deal on these earmuffs — they’re selling ’em for $10, down from the $34 list price.  I bought a cheap pair of earmuffs a while back, but I can’t wear ’em for more than a couple of minutes without them hurting.  I hope these’ll treat me better, due to their ultra-lightweight construction, low-pressure headband, and soft-foam ear cushions.  With a noise-reduction rating of 28db they should offer plenty of protection for most shop applications.

I just followed the link to Amazon – price is $17.95 + $7.44 shipping (item not stocked by Amazon, from an affiliate). Total = $25.39. Could be a good buy at this price but far from $10.

  3. Kris,

When I follow the link I see:

$9.95 & eligible for FREE Super Saver Shipping on orders over $25

but then again I’m not logged in to Amazon and I’m using a different browser than I usually do. Try clearing your cookies or logging in or out.

Sometimes Amazon will show one price for one person and another for a different person. See this article:

IF these are available for the $10, I’d say that they’re probably a good deal. I wonder how they compare to the “Zem” earplugs or the MP3-playing ones? I’ve heard good things about both, and wonder if just going with a standard set of earmuffs like these would be better and safer in the shop. Any thoughts?

If you don’t have a pair get them. Not fair to compare to the MP3 player ones. I use a similiar pair on my tractor and chain saw. But I am planning on upgrading to the mp3 par soon. I currently just put the ear buds from my IPOD under, but that sucks for long use. Gotta listen to TOOLTALK!!!!!!
