Milwaukee’s new SwitchBlade Selfeed bits promise to give you up to two times the life of other large self-feed bits, thanks to their replaceable blade system. You can quickly replace the blade — after it dulls or becomes damaged — and keep on boring.
Milwaukee precision-grinds the investment-cast, high-alloy steel blades to give them a sharp cutting edge. The new aggressively pitched screw-feed design also cuts up to 12% faster. The bits feature a 7/16″ quick-change shank that’s compatible with their Quik-Lok extensions.
Right now Milwaukee only lists five sizes of SwitchBlade bits on its website: 1-3/8″, 1-1/2″, 2″, 2-1/8″, and 2-9/16″. They’ll also sell replacement blades, replacement feed screws, and a plumber’s kit that includes four of the five bits and a 5-1/2″ extension.
Milwaukee promises their SwitchBlade Selfeed bits will be available this month.
