Depending on where you live, porch-swing weather may be upon you or closing in. If you don’t already have a porch swing, or if the old one needs to be retired, take a gander at the plans on Black & Decker’s site. Though it’s nothing fancy, it’ll satisfy the basic requirements: space for a butt or two, and something to hang the swing by.

The curve in the seat base prevents the edge of the swing from putting your feet to sleep. And you’ll be able to easily replace the slats, when they eventually break.

Of course, you can find lots of designs all over the web — plugging “wood project plans” into Google will net you nearly four million entries, and “wood project plans porch swing” only narrows the selection to 350,000.  Let us know in comments where you get your favorite plans.
