Wiring Done Right: Painless Performance PowerBraid Tool

Know what’s cool? Braided wire loom, that’s what’s cool — it keeps your wiring clean and organized and also protects it from the elements. Thing is, plastic cabling is a real pain to install sometimes, and frankly I’m surprised it took so long for someone to make a tool like this. You just slip the PowerBraid Tool around your wiring, then put the split loom around it, and pull the tool along the length of the loom. Then you’re good to go. Talk about cutting your work in half.
PowerBraid Tool [Painless Wiring]
I’ve been using windshield welt tool to do this for years.
Where was this tool when I was doing some trailer rewiring? Thanks for the tip.
Good god — $33 for one of these found through Google products. I guess if you’re on the clock, it’d be worth it, but for the average guy?
Also, it seems it’s made especially for Painless’ loom, so I’m not even sure if it will work with anything else.
Neat tool but certainly nothing new. I’ve been using something that looks almost identical from Panduit for years.
Panduit PWT75 for 3/4″ loom
Panduit PWT50 for 1/2″ loom
Looks like PowerBraid tool comes in 1″ as well, something I have not found from Panduit. While PowerBraid wants $20+ per tool (the 3 tool set sells for something like $66), you can buy the Paduit tools from Mouser for $8.84 and &6.23 respectively. Alas if you are looking for the snazzy orange color, the Panduit tools only come in white.
Panduit aqlso makes a PWT100 and a PWT150. The latter works up to about 1-5/8 inch
