Weldcraft just added the LS17 to its air-cooled Legacy Series of TIG torches. With its styled ergonomics, it looks a bit more like a toothbrush than a torch — but then again, toothbrushes are comfortable and easy to hold, so there may be something to that.

It’s rated at 150 amps DC and 125 amps AC, and both run a 60% duty cycle, which means six minutes of welding for every ten minute span of time.  Most of the welders you’re going to attach it to have a shorter duty cycle, so it works out fine. The LS17 also features a fingertip switch that provides remote amperage control, and you can easily replace it without any tools.

The knuckle joint located at the bottom of the torch swivels for greater torch control and easier movement, and it minimizes stress on the power cables and the back end of the torch body.  Weldcraft says the knuckle joint helps save on replacement costs and decreases your downtime to replace twisted or damaged power cables.

If I had my preference. I would stick with a water cooled weldcraft. cs310a is my current favorite.

Does this tig torch come with a 7 pin plug? or can it be modified to work a Primeweld 225 tig machine?
