If the local selection of hardwood lumber has got you down, you can always try a virtual one. InternetLumber.com offers over 30 types of hardwood for you to drool over. Though it’s not cheap, the selection will definitely get your attention.

From cocobolo to tigerwood, they offer stock in 1” to 2” thicknesses in standard lengths. If your taste runs a little outside the norm, you can request a custom order as well. Our big question: how much extra does it cost to ship a big order? For most of these boards, you’re looking at $10 to $20 a board foot to start with, so it’s not a low-budget type of place — but exotics are never low-budget anyway.

One Response to Mail Order Wood

Though I haven’t used their service, this is another impressive website for ordering domestic and exotic lumber. I really like the info sheets for the different types of wood. Comparable prices as well.
