Drill-Powered Pencil Sharpener

‘Tis the season for cheap plastic crap. The gimmicky products that surface around holiday time never cease to amaze us. But some of them have a bit of charm — like this drill-powered pencil sharpener.
It works like any other handheld pencil sharpener, but on its backside it sports a 1/4″ shaft that connects to any 3/8” or 1/2” drill. Once connected you have a 2700 RPM (more or less, depending on drill speed) handheld pencil sharpener. We wonder how many seconds it takes to go from pencil to dust pile.
Street pricing starts at $6.

Get outta here! This device was invented by someone with WAY too much time on his hands, as does anyone who’d buy it, even for just $6.
Where do you get those 2700 rpm drills, I could use a couple
teachers need these. My mom is a teacher and when I was a kid she made me sharpen boxes and boxes of pencils with a non-power sharpener.
My tool belt always has a small sharpener in it or I just use my pocket knife.
Seriously, the amount of labor involved to hook this up to sharpen one pencil seems large compared to just sharpening it by hand.
For me to buy it would have to be made of steel or alumium the plasitc would break of too fast and even then I stiil wouldnt buy it because if I am in the shop I sharpen pencils with a utility knife (I bought one of those carpenters pencil sharpeners but I didnt like it
This patented product was invented by a Cabinet maker in TN. He was tired of going up and down his ladder to use the “Boston” sharpener that he had fastened to the top of his tool box. I have several of these around my house and garage, they put a great tip on my pencils…I just turn the sharpener with my hand. I know we are the manufacturer..but I love this product!
