I just saw this 101-piece bit set in my local ‘Depot circular. It’s available in stores for just under $9, but even at $10 online it’s a pretty good buy — especially considering that my trusty ratcheting screwdriver has always been a go-to standby. Hell, the handy dandy case alone is probably worth $10.

does it have anything useful in there, like security bits? or just loads more the bits I already have enough of?

I wouldn’t recommend this set. It’s very cheaply made (the housing on the ratcheting mechanism is plastic and tends to fall off) and the bits break if you try to use them on anything tough. For light household duty, it would probably be fine, but as a decent tool, I wouldn’t recommend it. A friend always says about this screwdriver ‘you’ve heard of snap-on tools before? Well, this is a snap-off brand tool’.

I regularly post cheap-ass tools on Toolmonger (and get some flack for it) 🙂 I also have alot of cheap tools in my arsenal, but I’ve never had good luck with Husky Tools. I alway avoid them, especially their screwdrivers having bent, snaps and chewed the ends off on all of the set that I had. Probably ok for some light duty work but nothing that requires any torque.

seemed like a great deal at first with loads of bits but after close examination most of the bits are pretty useless…lightweight set for a housewife or a person whose all thumbs with tools

After Christmas I purchased several of these sets for $2.00. Makes a great housewarming gift for people that don’t have tools.
