Sears Verterens Day Sale

Sears is hosting their annual Veterans Day sale over this long (for some, though not us obviously) weekend, and most of their tools are on sale for this event.  There are also a couple of secondary promotions happening, too: Free shipping on orders over $49 and a free 11-inch tool bag (#00937533000) on tool purchases of $25 or more.

Some of the items that caught my eye — and will probably end up in my toolbox are:

One Response to Dealmonger: Sears Veterans Day Sale

  1. Actually, Sears is offering free shipping on tools with no minimum purchase required, until the 17th. On larger or heavier tools that require special handling, delivery fees may still apply.

However, Sears doesn’t seem to be handling the higher volume of orders very well, and I’d recommend other options before taking advantage of the free shipping. You may be better off ordering the item for in-store pickup or head to the store to purchase the merchandise in person.

Last week I attempted to purchase a Klein screwdriver with free shipping. In short, Sears didn’t ship on time, didn’t notify me of the delay, kept my order “in processing” for far longer than the “up to two days” period, and they refuse to cancel my order even though the item still hasn’t shipped. Their response: refuse the eventual delivery or return the item to the store.

When I order something with free shipping from Amazon, they at least exaggerate the expected delivery timeframe and inform me via email of any delays. Other vendors have done the same – they stick with ETAs and notify of delays.

It also seems that Sears has issues with its internal deliveries as well. Last time I went to Sears to pick up a few advertised sale items, three different stores in two states in the spand of two weeks claimed delayed shipments for not having the items in stock.
