If you’ve ever wanted to see a Ridgid specialty tool firsthand before ordering it, you may soon get your wish. According to Ridgid’s website, all you have to do is select the products you want to see in action, and they’ll send over a representative with the tools.
Although this program seems like a great idea, there are a few potential downsides. Since the demo request form asks for your company name, it is a fair assumption that Ridgid will only honor requests by serious customers (read: businesses). Additionally, although there are a few products, such as the SeeSnake, that weekend hobbyists might be interested in, most are intended for industrial applications.
Although customers with larger wallets rarely have trouble attracting product representatives, smaller clients and consumers are often ignored. Ridgid’s program is a step in the right direction, and hopefully other companies will follow in their footsteps.
Whether you befriend tool company insiders, or routinely stalk the tool aisles at the big box stores, drop us a comment about your favorite ways to catch sneak peeks of new or hard to find products.
