From the “Why didn’t I think of that?” department: this ingenious little flexible-beam compass. You set the radius just like a measuring tape, push down on the center pin, and sweep the arc with the included pencil.  Or replace the pencil with an optional blade and cut thin materials directly. 

At thirty bucks — plus $8 more for the cutter — it’s not cheap, but it sure looks convenient!

  2. This product is made in the USA. I have seen others out there, that have been copied by China. The thing that is bad about the china made product is that it will not hold or use the accessories. Also, very poor quality. The “ROTAPE” tape compass is made in the USA.
