TM reader William clued us in to this interesting source for mad scientist gear and oddities.  It reminds us a little bit of a miniature Edumund Scientific mashed up with that stuff you find in the back of Popular Science.

Our favorites: a great selection of glass bottles, bearings, batteries, microswitches, and even some crazy-ass military mittens.  Neat stuff.

I would highly recommend requesting their catalog. Although the descriptions and drawings on the web are the same, the real treat is reading it in their budget-conscious recycled newsprint catalog. It’s an entire book full of back-page-of-the-comic-book ads only instead of x-ray specs (they work by the way) they sell big honkin’ stepper motors, lasers, and Geiger counters.

AmSci! Where else can you get stepper motors, wwII periscopes, and cheerfully painted tote bags to haul it all in. Some of their stuff isn’t muh cheaper than other places, but they have such a bizarre assortment of stuff it’s gets you thinking about what to do with some of it. They’re also a good source for cheap laboratory glassware.
