TM reader and photo pool member Problemsolver posted a series of great photos of his highly custom dent repair project.  I must admit that this style of auto work appeals to the very core of what makes me a Toolmonger. As you can see from his pics above of the dent and the major “tools” applied in the project, he’s a man who means business.

I say hats off and beers up to you, sir, and to your spot on analysis and execution of the “window doesn’t go down” problem.  You’re a man after my own heart.

WTF? Why didn’t he replace the vanilla custard cone with a beer?

While I would agree that my choice might have been a frosty cold beverage as well, a guy with as much raw Toolmonger style such as problemsolver, doesn’t need to follow conventional rules. 😉

Before my wife and I were married, she hydroplaned and her car went into a ditch. She hit a high tension wire with the side of the car putting a big dent in the door. It made it so the door wouldn’t open properly. The solution was for a friend of mine and I to kick the door dent in even further until ‘wrinkle’ near the hinge wouldn’t interfere with the door opening.

We drove that car with the kicked in door for many years. Worked great. 🙂

  4. Hey, thanks for the mention and the beer offer. It’s fun to have 5 minutes of “fame”

I would have gladly accepted the beer at the time (or later for that matter), but trust me if you’ve ever had actual frozen custard (a million times better than soft serve ice cream), it’s a toss up sometimes.
