It seems like we’ve been making a lot of hardwood trim in the Toolmonger shop recently, so we’re looking for a quality router table.  This Bosch model came up in discussion recently, and we’d love to hear your thoughts about it.  As much as it looks like a floor-standing unit, it’s actually a bench-top model.  The top is 25″ x 15-1/2″ and the holes you see in the base allow you to bolt it to your bench.

The router mount plate is aluminum, as is the fence, though the fence also includes adjustable MDF components.  The two featherboards in the picture come with it and help to protect against kickback.  It also includes two dust collection ports.

It’s pre-drilled for a variety of Bosch routers as well as some models from DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, and Hitachi — check the specs online for a full list of models.  We’d buy a router specifically for the table, so that gives us lots of options.

Street pricing starts around $170.

If you get a chance, check it out and let us know your thoughts in comments.

It’s a little small, IMO. I would make a simple router table, get a big 3+ hp router with above table adjust (milwaukee, bosch, freud, or anything with a router raizer) and skip out on the insert plate

I bought this table from amazon along with a Makita variable speed router back in December. So far I’ve been pleased with it. Sturdy, intelligent construction – fairly easy setups. I’ve found that I can do above the table bit changes by raising the router all the way up and pulling out the plastic insert. I’m a full-time carpenter, but don’t do a tremendous amount of woodworking.
