Weekend Project Roundup
We’ll admit it: we’re total project geeks. We obsessively read project-oriented websites, often to the detriment of our home life. But our pain is your gain! Here are a few projects we saw this week that you might want to check out:
- From MAKE: Make Mousey The Junkbot (Video Podcast) — Based on a project from Maker Faire ’07, this podcast walks you through building your own light-seeking robot from scavenged materials.
- From Instructables: Build Hungarian Shelves — The author of this how-to says he found these easy-to-make bookcases (pictured) in Hungary and claims they were designed by a physicist.
- From Lincoln Electric: Fireplace Doors — Looking for a welding project this weekend? This how-to from Lincoln includes blueprints and a material list.
- From Craft: How-To Sew Piping — Bust out the sewing machine and let Natalie at Craft teach you how to decorate your next sewing project with piping.
And there’s lots more from these sources and others — this is just a start. Happy weekend!
Those shelves are amazing. One of the things on my to-do list for the summer is put some shelves in the office, and I’m going to try this design.
