Stanley’s new hi-vis tape line includes one significant new feature: its color.  Not only will this be easy to spot around the shop, you’re also likely to be the only guy on the jobsite carrying one like this, so you’ll know when someone walks off with it.  And if you drop it in the dirt, you’ll have a good chance of finding it.

The new line includes 12′, 16′, and 25′ versions with blade widths ranging from 1/2″ to 1″.  They also feature a soft rubber grip and an an end hook that’s riveted on with three rivets for durability.

Street pricing starts around $10 for the 25′ version.

Yes, but the bright coloring won’t help when it’s
~ hidden under the napkins in the napkin basket
~ stuck into the grandbaby’s toolbox
    ~ left in the crawlspace
    etc. etc. etc.

What the world really needs is a good tool set (including tape measure) that has a beeper that goes off when you press a button on a remote. Think of how much project time could be saved!

errr… that was supposed to be “stuck in the grandbaby’s TOYbox”, but I’m doing my best to teach my granddaughters the Joy of Tools (gd the elder, age 11, is doing great with the mitre saw), and so you can bet that baby granddaughter will get a toy toolbox and toolbench and her own measuring tape and level (kids really do love those) as soon as they are age appropriate.

  3. I was hoping the tape would be the same hi-vis green color, but alas, it’s the standard Stanley yellow.
