It’s Just Cool: The Claas Jaguar Eats Trees For Breakfast
This is amazing: it’s an ass-kicking chipper/shredder that’s mobile. We’d tell you more, but we weren’t able to turn up specs on German company Claas’ North American website. It appears to be an attachment for the Jaguar Green Eye, though, which can also serve as a mower and corn husker.
Regardless, if you’ve ever cleared a lot of mid-sized trees, watching this sucker in action will put a grin on your face. You’ll note that those trees it’s plowing through in the video in about 5 seconds each are around 4″ (10 cm) in diameter.
It looks like two large saw blades cut the trunk while a rotating star assembly pulls the tree into grinding jaws.
Wow.
Reminds me of this John Deere Tree Harvester that can Cut Down, Strip Branches, and chop into logs all with the same head. Where’s my Multi shop tool that can plane, joint, and cross cut with one setup? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czj1P0naTt8
