Leatherman Hybrid Pruner

Amazon currently lists the Leatherman Hybrid Pruner w/Sheath for $46.83, but if you add the coupon code “PRUNER07” — which should remain good through the rest of this month —  you’ll get an additional 10% off, dropping it to $39.81.  This would be great for pruning and trimming your houseplants or clipping an occasional yard-box plant while you’re mowing.

The all-steel Hybrid’s tools include wire cutters, a “weed remover,” a saw, a screwdriver. and — our favorite — a bottle opener for cracking open a beer after a hard day of pruning.

3 Responses to Dealmonger: Leatherman’s Hybrid Pruner For $40

  1. Fong says:

I’ve always been a reluctant gardener. People through the years have attempted to give me plants that have either died or grown wildly and what little pruning I’ve done has been with scissors or metal shears. It’s silly but just the fact that this leatherman looks cool and has multi-tool capability makes me want to finally buy my first gardening tool. Maybe my one surviving Eureka lemon bush will make it to harvest afterall.

I bought one of these for my wife so she’d stop using my Leatherman in the garden. It’s a remarkably well-thought-out tool. When I bought it, it was spendy, but for $40? Great deal.

The Hybrid Pruner, while not a workhorse or dedicated pruner, is really handy to have around the garden to save yourself a trip back to the toolshed. I like the compactness of the pruner. It doesn’t have the elegant satisfaction of a good Japanese pruner, but for $40, you get so much more versatility.
