Phillip writes: “They claim to be the strongest storage cabinets available.  Strong Hold cabinets, carts, shelves, and workbenches are built like you’d build them — if you had the time.  They’re available in nine colors and are built heavy-duty with 12-gauge metal.”

For those of you who aren’t metalworkers, suffice it to say that 12-gauge metal is thick stuff when you’re talking about cabinet doors and sides.  Heck, we only used 16-gauge tubing for our game chair we built last year, and even that was overkill for our particular application.

I’d be willing to bet that you could store pretty much anything on these shelves, though you’ll pay a price for the priviledge: the model 36-244 cabinet (24″ x 36″ x 78″) streets starting at around $850-$950 — which isn’t too surprising considering how much metal’s in it.

And don’t forget shipping.  It weighs 476 pounds.

One Response to Strong Hold Cabinets: 12-Gauge Steel

Although prohibitively expensive and heavy, this is a cabinet that I would purchase if it was within my means. The blinged out ones are okay, but this is a case where function beats form hands down.
