Phillip claims this is the lightest 12″ adjustable wrench he’s used.  He writes: “This 8″ wrench has the capacity of a 12″ wrench at 1-5/8″, but is on an 8″ frame with the Code Blue grip for comfort.”

I wonder how often you’d need the extra torque you get from the 12″ longer handle?  Admittedly, most of the time you’re not operating at (or near) your maximum possible output with an adjustable wrench anyway.  But when you need it, you need it.

On the other hand, we’ve heard nothing but good things about Channellock’s tools from Toolmonger readers.  Street pricing starts around $21, and we found it for $20 on Amazon.
