Finds: Knipex’s Auto-Adjusting Cobra Pliers

We’ve always heard positive things from readers (and friends) regarding Knipex’s offerings, so we’re thinking about giving these auto-adjusting pliers a try. As you can see in the picture, they’re pretty much standard slip-joint pliers, but a second joint in the middle lets them automatically slip to the correct size.
Street pricing starts around $40, though there don’t seem to be a ton of people selling ’em right now.
It sounds quite convenient, but most of the ones I’ve come across were manufactured by low-end brands. My guess: if Knipex thinks it’s worth manufacturing, it probably works.
Have any of you used these?
Note: I’d link the Knipex site directly, but a) there’s not much additional information there, and b) the site’s having some XML programming troubles.

I hope these work better than what Robogrip did for pliers. Knowing Knipex, they’re probably excellent. I’ll stick to my “manual” Cobras though….
