Reader Sizod tipped us to the fact that Amazon’s selling Black & Decker’s StormStation all-in-one rechargeable power source/radio/light — which we wrote about back in June — for $60 with free shipping right now. Froogle’s finding it for more like $75 to $100, so this looks like a pretty good deal.
If you’ve been considering one, now may be the time.

Wow thats great! Your reader Sizod must be the most froogle tool shopper ever, he is always finding the deals on stuff I need.
seems like a good price but is this something that is really going to get used? seems to me that most people will have it charged and ready for a few months, then it will get in the way… when they actually need it it is going to be dusty and discharged at the back of a shelf in the garage. I just try to keep gas and an inverter in my car. We also have a generator, a stock of batteries and many flashlights – isn’t that what most serious toolmongers have too?
I am with Michael B on this one–I can’t see this being too useful. I have gas in my tank and a little inverter that is mostly used for my laptop–but it would do in a pinch, especially for charging batteries. I have plans for a generator, and normally have lots of batteries. So a $60 deal, but not for me.
Yes I can’t see justifying $60 for a radio and a flashlight myself.
