Finds: DeWalt’s New Laminate Trimmer Kit
DeWalt’s combined a rotary tool with all the necessary feet for trimming laminate into a handy kit — the D26670K. It includes a 5.6 amp, 30,000 rpm rotary tool complete with a standard 1/4″ collet and depth adjustment as well as a fixed base, an offset base (for backsplashes, scribe, and trim), and a tilt base (for angled corners or cuts near vertical surfaces).
The whole package wraps up in a nice tool bag as well.
Street pricing starts around $215, which seems pretty reasonable.

Maybe I’ll pick one of these up to use in the home-grown CNC machine I’d like to build..
If any of you guys are interested – these guys are selling plans for $20. It’s all buildable out of plywood or MDF, or anything else you have around. Then there’s minimal investment in some of the electronics for controlling the various axis, etc.

Saw this on Makezine blog..
If any toolmongers get around to building one before I do.. Let us know how it goes.
Is this product one of the first “births” from the Dewalt/PorterCable marraige?
These bases look identical to the PC 7310 series of laminate trimmers – not at all like the previous Dewalt versions.
Looks like the same motor with a new style cap to it.

I think bosch has dewalt beat on this one.
