Stuart writes: “This Stanley organizer is of fantastic utility.  Its 25 individual compartments are removable so you can take what you need with you to the worktable.  The unit is portable enough that I often take the entire unit to the worktable anyways.  I remove the compartments I need and close the lid to protect the others from contamination from debris.  Even fully loaded, the handle provides a comfortable carrying experience.  I now have five units serving my organizational needs!  Oh yes, I forgot to mention – the individual compartments can be swapped between units and reorganized in almost any position or orientation.”

I’ve actually been shopping for one of these (a small portable part organizer), and I hadn’t seen Stanley’s yet.  I very much like the idea of the removable compartments.

Home depot carries a 10-compartment version for $15, but I haven’t seen this particular one in stores.  Have any of you?

Home Depot and Lowes used to sell these in addition to the deeper compartment ones, but they really are hard to come by nowadays. I recently had some luck at the local SuperTarget though (picked up two for my father). They were not on clearance, so other Targets might have a few in stock.

I have a number of these. I used to get them from big box stores, and once from Target. I’ve noticed that there is also a non-Stanley knockoff version, though I have no idea if the compartments are interchangeable.

We buy one of these whenever we get a new board game and move the sorted pieces into it — one bucket per player (or perhaps several if it’s a really complicated game), and one for each of the types of common pieces. Much better than trying to sift through the box most games come with for the pieces you’re after!

Harbor Freight has these seemingly always in stock. Look closely at them. The Stanley logo is just a sticker – the Harbor Freight ones I’ve compared them to are completely identical – no kidding! Just no $2 more Stanley sticker.

I bought several of these under the name of ZAG at Sam’s Club. They were packaged in twos.

I also bought the same one as a single (Stanley) at Lowe’s, but I haven’t seen them there since; they only carry the deep version. I’m looking for a place to buy the 25 container version online…

On Stanley’s site, there’s a ZAG logo so I believe it’s a sister or daughter company of theirs.

I’ve seen these organizers at Home Depot recently, and Target (other than the superTarget I mentioned).

I too cannot seem to find an online vendor for these.

Your best bet is still HD or Target (I can’t find them at Lowes either) and possibly Sam’s Club.

I dropped an email off to Stanley regarding where to get this online, and will post back when they reply.

These are available via amazon again!

Don’t forget that Amazon still has the $10 off $50 Stanley promotion going on…

I was out looking around for these storage units both online and in my local area. I couldn’t find them at Lowe’s or Home Depot, but I came across a newer version of the Stanley Professional Organizer at this page:

They were really easy to deal with and I had 4 of these boxes shipped to me in about 3 days.
