This is a really cool tiny multi-tool.  If you’re in the IT support biz, you should pick one of these up right away; you’ll find zillions of uses for it.  Tinkerers, this is for you, too.  It’d easily help pop open an offending piece of gear at a friend’s place for a quick diagnostic.

It’s also small enough to be truly “keychain portable,” and it has a very solid, professionally-made feel.  Best of all, our testing indicated that it works quite well for all intended tasks.  Hell, I’m going to pick one up to carry.  Just make sure you remove it before you head to the airport.

MAKE sells the Warranty Voider for $39.95, which is pretty much the same price you’ll pay for the plain Squirt E4 elsewhere.

What a cheesey idea. I totally want one!!!!

  2. Lee says:

“Make:” should have been called “Hack:” A true maker builds from scratch and warranties aren’t an issue. So, now Make: has hacked the Leatherman and they are heroes. Not.

But the word “hack” has such baggage in the mainstream media. The magazine’s name is a clever PR move. It’s sad that it was necessary, but it’s working. I won’t begrudge them the word.

Anyway, the tip of that straightblade “screwdriver” looks like it’s rounded to cam-out before you get any torque applied. What’s the deal with that? I might have to pick one of these up just to take some decent closeup photos of the screwdrivers in comparison with the Swisstech Micro-Plus.

If I’m not mistaken the logo is laser etched, not screen printed. Cooler and more durable.
