Make no mistake: Porter Cable makes great routers. When we spent a day riding with one of the members of Stanley’s Discovery Team, we visited a number of professional wood shops — both large and small — and almost all of them used Porter Cable routers.
Now Porter Cable’s releasing some of their router bits in sets — some of which offer great selection and value.
This 10-piece set, for example, includes:
- a 1/4″ 2-flute straight
- a 3/8″ 2-flute straight
- a 1/2″ 2-flute straight
- a 3/8″ V-groove
- a 1/2″ core box
- a 45-degree chamfer bit
- a 14″ Roman Ogee
- a 3/8 rabbeting bit
- a 3/8″ cove
- and a 3/8″ corner rounding bit
All of it comes in a nice wooder display case that keeps the bits safe.
It’s not cheap, but then neither are the bits. Street pricing starts around $140.
