tv2nite.jpg(Wednesday, July 19, 2006) Wow, what an incredibly loaded night of Toolmonger-friendly TV.  You can catch four episodes of How It’s Made tonight if you so wish, though you might want to forego a couple of them to catch the three episodes for MythBusters on Discovery.  (We think the Steam Cannon episode is new, or at least new to us, so we’ll be checking it out.)

The Science Channel is also offering up episodes 1 and 2 of The Man Who Built His Own Submarine, which should be pretty slick as well.  We saw the mention in Wired a while back, so we’ll set the TiVo at least.

Tonight:

  • How It’s Made: Episode 33: Mustard, Violins, Nuts and Bolts, Toilet Paper (Discovery, 6 p.m. CDT)
  • How It’s Made: Episode 36: PVC Gloves, Thermoformed Glass, Fire Trucks (Discovery, 6:30 p.m. CDT)
  • Trading Spaces: Chicago: Fairview Avenue (Discovery Home, 7 p.m. CDT)
  • Chop Cut Rebuild (Speed, 7:30 p.m. CDT)
  • MythBusters: Scuba Diver and Car Capers (Discovery, 8 p.m. CDT)
  • Extreme Engineering: Space Tower (Discovery HD, 8 p.m. CDT)
  • How It’s Made: Episode 27: Pre-Inked Stamps, Cranberries, Cotton Yarn, Road Signs (Science Channel, 8 p.m. CDT)
  • How It’s Made: Episode 28: Combination Locks, Pottery, RVs, Erasers (Science Channel, 8:30 p.m. CDT)
  • MythBusters: Steam Cannon (Discovery, 9 p.m. CDT)
  • Pinks: Civic vs. Mazda (Speed, 9 p.m. CDT)
  • The Man Who Built His Own Submarine: Episode 1 (Science Channel, 9 p.m. CDT)
  • Pinks: Arizona (Speed, 9:30 p.m. CDT)
  • MythBusters: Son of a Gun (Discovery, 10 p.m. CDT)
  • The Man Who Built His Own Submarine: Episode 2 (Science Channel, 10 p.m. CDT)
  • Unique Whips: SEMA & Softball (Speed, 10:30 p.m. CDT)
  • Extreme Engineering: Space Tower (Discovery HD, 11 p.m. CDT)
  • I Love Toy Trains (RFDTV, 11:30 p.m. CDT)
  • Unique Whips: Jadakiss & the Jets (Speed, midnight CDT)

Our insomniac’s recommendation: Chop Cut Rebuild at 4 a.m. on Speed.  Thanks, BTW, for the comments about new shows on other TV Tonight posts.  We read ’em all, and we’ll keep an eye out for the shows you suggest!
