Easily Sharp

Positioning tools at the right angle to sharpen them drives me crazy. I can’t stand messing with a block to hold the tool at an angle, but I know that the right angle can really affect the quality of work that I get out of my tools.  Luckily, the Sharpening Box makes it easy. Just set the angle you need, clamp in your tool, and hone away with a flat motion.

Handmade Blum Planes

Blum planes aren’t really tools. They’re art that happen to be functional tools as well. Gary Blum has been crafting his planes for 20 years and it shows. His work is a mixture of antique style and full-on love for woodworking. The Mesquite smooth plane pictured is an example of the kind of hardcore blending of old-school looks and modern tool work ethics we’re talking about. It features a fully adjustable 2″ wide blade and measures 9 1/2″ long overall. And you can actually request what wood type and metal fittings you want on your plane.
