As almost everyone knows, Festool is rather — we’ll call it “proud” — of their gear. So if you want to put Festool green on display in the shop, it’s going to cost you. However, our friends at HomeFixated are putting on a giveaway that promises to net one lucky-ass winner five assorted sizes of T-Loc Systainer containers for free.

For some, it may be the only Festool-branded items in the shop, but as far as we’re concerned, no matter how you feel about their pricing, free makes them a whole lot more interesting. Add to that the fact the boys in green actually make a quality product. and someone will wind up with a nice payout for commenting on a blog. Just sayin’.

Say what you want about Black & Decker, but they have been around a long-ass time — 100 years, to be precise. Their Centennial Sweepstakes has two months with free combo kits, tools, and gear left to go. It’s funny; you don’t really think about Black & Decker as being that old but if you look around you’ll find tools that are older than your grandparents stuffed in drawers and covered with dust.

At the ripe old age of 34, I plan to get my first Ink done this year. It’s a something I’ve wanted to do for the last ten years, but never got around to it — this is the year. I thought my decaying death dragon concept was gonna be freaky, but I’m not even in the running for oddball. Apparently if you get the most badass Milwaukee tattoo before December 2011, every year will be like Christmas with free Milwaukee tools for life.

We have always been big fans of Miller welding helmets. They’re functional and always keep up with the current safety standards. That, however, is not why we dig them –- it’s the way they look, and from now until May 31, 2010, Miller is hosting a design contest where the winner will get their bad-ass design on a limited production run of Miller welding helmets and a grand prize package totaling $3,100.

We’re not sure whether this is just business as usual or an indication of how rough the auto aftermarket business has fared in the tough economy, but the folks at Jegs are giving away a brand new Camaro SS. And the geeks out there among you may recognize the paintjob as the one closest to the one featured in the recent Transformers movies.

So you’re a social media fan and up to your knees in a driveway full of snow, eh? Craftsman wants to puff up their Twitter following, and they’ll give you a (slim but measurable) chance at a snow blower for adding +1 to their following and reading their marketing Tweets.

The deets: Visit Sears’ step-by-step snow blower finder and pick your fave. Follow @BlueLGCrew on Twitter and Tweet the following:

Following @BlueLGCrew and went to http://bit.ly/6KxG5t to find my ideal #searssnowblower – model [insert your fave’s 5-digit model # here] – I’m entered for a chance to win it!

The contest closes tomorrow, so move quickly. Or just use your existing snow blower, knowing that your soul is safe from misuse of social media for one more day. Either way, enjoy.

Official Rules [Sears Blog]

Though we normally avoid posts about posts here on Toolmonger, we couldn’t resist telling you about reaching this milestone. But as exciting as it is to still be doing this after a few years we can’t help but think of our work so far as our first round of posts rather than “thousands of posts.” We’re here to stay.

Some Toolmonger firsts:

But best of all, we’ve decided to celebrate this occasion in classic Toolmonger fashion — by giving away a couple of tools. We have two brand-new Stanley Fat Max Extreme Tape Measures that we’ll give away to a few lucky readers who comment on this post and tell us a) how you first heard about Toolmonger, and b) what you’d like to see more of here on the blog. As usual, we’ll pick our favorite entries.

Thanks for reading, and thanks even more for participating through your comments and your tool submissions.

On to the next ‘thou.

We drew the lucky winner of the Paslode Cordless Tools and found that reader Kyle I will be the lucky recipient of the tools. After we contacted him, he opted for the angled nailer and was very excited to get started on the jobs around his place that have been piling up.

We hope that he enjoys his Paslode tools and sends us a pic of his new giveaway booty when they arrive. For those of you who didn’t win this time, just keep in mind that we have a few other giveaways coming soon and you’ll have another chance at winning here at Toolmonger.

This is the last chance to enter the Paslode giveaway, so don’t forget to enter if you already haven’t — and remember that you can add to your chances by entering a comment on this or any of the other Paslode giveaway posts again.

Paslode was kind enough to offer up a set of cordless tools for us to give away to one of our loyal readers. Next month we’ll select a winner from all of you who post valid comments on any of the Paslode giveaway posts (like this one).

Sure, you already post your thoughts here — and you deserve a hearty “thank you” from me and the rest of the Toolmonger community — but now when you post a comment, you’re not only sharing your experience with other Toolmongers around the world; you’re also adding a chance to win!  That’s good all ’round, yeah?
